  4. SIZE: 28 ft/8. 5 m long

  6. The short, deep jaws of this massive
  7. meat-eater held even larger teeth than other
  8. tyrannosaurs, though they were fewer in
  9. number. Each tooth was dagger-sharp, curved
  10. and saw-edged.Formidable jaws, clawed feet
  11. and sheer bulk (with a body weight of up to 4
  12. US tons/3.6 tonnes--these were the weapons
  13. used by Daspletosaurus. It was capable of
  14. killing the large, horned dinosaurs
  15. (ceratopians) that browsed in the forests of
  16. northern North America at the time.
